Laryngomalacia is known as floppy air way, its when there is softening of the tissues of the larynx (voice box) just above the vocal cords. This causes noisy breathing and sometimes it sounds scary. The LM causes the tissues to flop over the airway opening and partially block it. In a lot of babies, laryngomalacia is not a serious condition — they have noisy breathing, but are able to eat and grow. AshLynn thankfully is one of the few that it only causes noisy breathing and some apnea. Laryngomalaica for AshLynn will resolve without surgery by the time she is 18-20 months old. When we got to TX we had her evaluated by an ENT. He looked at her air way with a scope that went in through her nose. He said that her voical cords didn't move like he wanted so he said he wanted to re-evaluate her in 6 weeks. We came back and he scoped her once again and they had not improved. We had to decide on what to do at that point. The ENT suggested we do a more indepth scope, MRI, an over night evaluation as well as a swallow study. So now we wait on all the test results. Boy do I hate waiting. Hoping no news is good news.

Laryngomalaica
AshLynn was born with a breathing problem. At 2 weeks we talked to her pediatrician and he suspected that she had Laryngomalaica. When she has her 1 month check up he confirmed that she did indeed have LM.

About the 2 Kids on a couch
My husband and I got married July 2nd 2009 and it all begain. Shortly after we tied the knot my husband left for Basic Combat Training. With a few visits while in training. We became pregnant with our son, Daniel. Order to Korea was not what we had expected for our first location. My husband took off over seas many miles away. I had to wait for the Army to say that I can come over and join my husband. When I flew to Korea I was 27.3weeks pregnant. It was the hardest flight I have ever taken. I had no idea how hard it would be while pregnant. I got heart burn for the first time ever and had no idea what was going on. I got off the plane and got to see my husband for the first time since 10weeks. I had a nice size belly. We took off to where we called home for almost 2yrs. I had my son Dec. 23, 2010. I was induced due to pre-eclampsia. It was the hardest days I have been through. I will give his birth story later. We came home on Christmas day to a wonderful hot meal made by a good friend. We were so thankful for that meal. We got pregnant with our daughter, AshLynn. Her birth was a dream compaired to Daniel's. We moved from Korea to Texas and boy was it hard with 2 kids and 8 large bags and 3 carry ons. We now live in Texas til the Army chooses to move us. I have been breastfeeding my son for almost 2yrs now and love it. I am also still nursing my almost 8month old daughter. We cloth diaper both kids and it has been by far much cheaper then paper diapers. Well that is a lil about us. As you read on you will learn much more about us.
